Region 9 Economic Development District is updating the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for 2026. This plan sets priorities for the next five years in housing, jobs, infrastructure, natural resources, and quality of life across Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan Counties.

The submersible pump guide rail system at Pump Station #1 has become disconnected and is currently out of operation. This pump failure has the potential of causing liquid waste to overflow the well. Staff is working to obtain an emergency bypass pump to drain the well and reconnect the separated pump.
To minimize use of the wastewater system, please limit the amount of water going down the drain in all forms:
We urgently need support from residents within the General Improvement District (GID) for the next 48 hours to minimize stress on the wastewater system until repairs can be made. The GID is actively working to reconnect the pump as quickly as possible. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
