WARNING: PHISHING SCAM TARGETING COLORADO DRIVERS ⚠️
Do not click on links in texts or emails claiming you owe money to the Colorado DMV!
We are receiving reports of a sophisticated scam circulating where fraudsters send messages threatening to revoke your vehicle registration and suspend your driver’s license unless you pay immediately for “unpaid infractions.”
The message looks like this: “Per Colorado Department of Revenue… you possess unpaid traffic infractions… Your Motor Vehicle Registration shall be REVOKED/DENIED…” It then asks you to click a link: https://codmv.servecoqk.com/pay
🛑 STOP. This is a scam.
Here is how to tell it is fake:
- The Link is Fake: Official government agencies use
.govwebsites. This link uses.com. - The Threats are False: The state does not suspend licenses via text message.
- They want your data: The link leads to a fake page designed to steal your credit card info and identity.
Protect Yourself:
- Delete the text immediately.
- Do not reply “Y” or tap the link.
- If you are worried about a real ticket, look it up on the official Colorado DMV website.
