  • Consideration of Resolution 2026 – ______ Approving and Authorizing a Ballot Question for the November 3, 2026 General Election for the Purpose of Proposing an Increasing Existing Lodging Tax by Four Percent (4%)

    The Board of County Commissioners desires to submit to the registered, qualified electors residing in the unincorporated areas of Archuleta County, at the election to be held on November 3, 2026, the question of increasing the County’s existing lodging tax by four percent (4%), from two percent (2%) to a total of six percent (6%), on the rental fee, price, or other consideration paid or charged for the leasing, rental, sale, or furnishing of a room or accommodation for a short-term period of less than thirty (30) consecutive days, with the additional revenues to be used for public infrastructure maintenance and improvements of county roads, public safety services, and affordable childcare for the local workforce, thereby enhancing the quality of life for County residents, improving the visitor experience, and supporting the long-term economic vitality of Archuleta County.

  • Consideration of County Commissioner’s Request for Approval of Payment of Attorneys Fees Incurred in Connection with Complaint Filed with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), Division of Real Estate

    This agenda item is to consider the request of Commissioner Veronica Medina for the payment of legal fees incurred to respond to a complaint filed with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agency, Division of Real Estate Commission (“DORA”) relating to actions taken by the Commissioner in the course and scope of her duties as a County Commissioner. The complaint has been dismissed by the Division of Real Estate which found no real estate license law violation.
