Planning Department Land Use Applications

A Land Use Permit is required for most types of development in Archuleta County.  Before you apply for a Land Use Permit, contact the Planning Department for information you will need specific to your project. Staff will be happy to help you through the process, 970-264-1390.

Please Note

Land Use Applications requiring a Public Hearing must be advertised in the newspaper with a 21-day notice.
For an application to be reviewed by staff and placed on an agenda for public hearing, please submit at least 30 days prior to the Planning Commission meeting.

LAND USE PERMITS

A blank application form to be used to request a Pre-Application Checklist for any of the following:

  • Conditional Use Permits (Oil & Gas, Sand & Gravel, etc.)
  • Geothermal Permit
  • Use By Right (UBR) Site Plan Review
  • Subdivision Plats, Plat Amendments, and Subdivision Exemption Plats
  • Rezoning Requests
  • Floodplain Development Permits
  • Lot Consolidation or Un-Consolidation by Resolution
  • Change of Use Requests
  • Variances
  • Temporary Use Permits
  • Sign Permits
  • Address Changes
