Archuleta County Strategic Plan
Archuleta County’s inaugural strategic plan marks a pivotal moment for change and progress. As the first effort of its kind for the County, this plan establishes a vision to guide decision-making and resource allocation. Developed through a collaborative process, the plan reflects the insights and priorities of hundreds of engaged residents, stakeholders, and community partners. Their participation has laid the foundation for a forward-thinking strategy that aligns with the County’s values and aspirations
Strengthen Community Partnerships
Success in strengthening community partnerships will be evident when open and productive communication becomes the norm across all County relationships.
Milestones
- Create a map of all the County partnerships
- Completion of communication audit
- A dedicated County liaison has been identified and assigned to each partner, and a common goal has been determined
- Collaborative community visioning process initiated
Stewardship Through Development
Success in managing growth and development will be seen in a balanced approach that supports economic diversification, protects natural resources, and preserves the character of the community.

- Completion of a comprehensive policy review and zoning updates
- Improved coordination with partners for land use planning

Infrastructure
