Region 9 Economic Development District is updating the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for 2026. This plan sets priorities for the next five years in housing, jobs, infrastructure, natural resources, and quality of life across Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, and San Juan Counties.

Your participation is key. It takes about 10-20 minutes to complete. All responses are confidential. Results will be combined with other community input to create a regional picture of well-being and opportunity.

Responsibilities

The County Clerk & Recorder is elected by Archuleta County voters and holds the position for a term of four years. This position is not term-limited which means someone may hold this position for more than two consecutive terms.

The County Clerk & Recorder is responsible for all motor vehicle registration and titling, recording of all documents, issuing of Marriage Licenses and sitting as Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners for minute taking purposes.

The County Clerk & Recorder is the Election Official for all elections held by Archuleta County and is responsible for holding all elections according to Colorado Statute at the highest level of integrity.

Who may attend commissioner meetings?

Meetings are open to the public.

How can I get a copy of the meeting that was recorded?

You need to contact the county clerk at (970) 264-8350 for a CD copy. The fee is $25 per CD.

Would I be allowed to ask the board a question at any meeting?

The board allows questions and comments to be made prior to and at the end of each meeting. These must be questions and comments that pertain to something other than a posted agenda item. Public comments will be allowed for each agenda item.
