SECURE ITEMS FOR TRANSPORT

Solid waste transported to any facility within Archuleta County must be covered or secured in such a manner that the waste cannot be scattered upon the streets. FINES will be assessed to all uncovered or unsecured loads.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED AT ANY FACILITY – Because of stringent federal, state, and county regulations, the following materials cannot be accepted at Archuleta County Landfill sites:

• Freon containing appliances without documentation of proper disposal.
• Hazardous waste in any form: Fluorescent Lamps, Lead Acid and Rechargeable Batteries, Unwanted Medications, Etc.
• Liquids, Used Oil, Chemicals, Pesticides, Fuels, Anti-freeze, Household Hazardous Waste, Contaminated Soil, etc.
• Friable Asbestos
• Tires
• Car Bodies, Trailers, or other Vehicles Requiring Licenses
• Burning Trash, Hot Barrels or Ashes
